Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) is seeking input on barriers to and solutions for achieving Canada’s net zero goals for the electricity sector in order to inform the Canada Electricity Advisory Council (CEAC). The PWU has assembled its previous Federal submissions and recommends the government should: build a national energy vision to align provincial, territorial and indigenous peoples’ interests for a Net Zero economy; create a common understanding of the viable electricity system options; rapidly develop long-lead time bulk system baseload e.g., new nuclear; and, manage Canada’s electricity system transition to mitigate the cost impacts.
